gather
From June 26- July 24, Gather will have a group show called Gather: New Voices in WNC Craft, in the Kokol Gallery at Toe River Arts' Spruce Pine location.
The exhibition will consider the ways in which Gather artists fit into the larger historical craft landscape here in WNC and the ways in which they are shaping its future.
To qualify for inclusion into the show, you'll need to live in WNC or have spent formative time here building your creative practice.
You’ll notice that the last questions in this form are optional- you can answer any or all or none of them, though some degree of answering the questions may help us contextualize your work for inclusion into the show.
If there’s enough interest, Gather will produce a small zine or exhibition catalog that addresses Gather artists’ connection to WNC craft histories and how this next generation of makers is shaping the future. If you’d like to contribute writing after you submit your application that’s fine too- these prompts are just starting points for reflecting on our place in the WNC craft landscape. If you have an idea for a longer form piece you’d like to write for the zine, please get in touch!
